Dolly Parton had to miss Wednesday’s (September 17) announcement of Dollywood’s new Night Flight Expedition ride due to health issues. The 79-year-old country music star suffered a kidney stone that eventually caused an infection, which prompted doctors to advise her to rest at home. In a video message to fans, Dolly explained her absence while reassuring everyone that she was feeling better. “I’m there with you in spirit, because I was looking so forward to it,” Dolly said in the clip, while adding, “I’ll be back just as quick as I can. Don’t worry about me. I’m gonna be okay,” Parton went on to express excitement about Dollywood’s new attraction, which was inspired by the Great Smoky Mountains, while also joking, “They say it’s the most expensive thing we’ve ever done, so it better be good.” (Taste of Country)
